siblings
There are many adult siblings all over the world and from all backgrounds who have grown up with a disabled brother or sister. Adult siblings have experienced a lifetime of their needs coming second to that of another person. They are vulnerable to isolation, and are at risk of anxiety and depression. They are also often incredibly mature with highly developed social skills. Adult siblings often self-refer to counselling and are glad to find a counsellor who understands the issues they are facing.
